Sammy is using a FreeStyle Libre sensor and app1, 2. She taps on Connected Apps and invites John to share her glucose data.

John downloads the LibreLinkUp app, signs in, and accepts Sammy's invitation.

John can now view Sammy's glucose information and receive notifications from his LibreLinkUp app.

  3. The FreeStyle LibreLink app and the FreeStyle Libre reader have similar but not identical features. A finger prick test using a blood glucose meter is required during times of rapidly changing glucose levels when interstitial fluid glucose levels may not accurately reflect blood glucose levels or if hypoglycaemia or impending hypoglycaemia is reported by the FreeStyle LibreLink app or when symptoms do not match the app readings. The FreeStyle Libre sensor communicates with the FreeStyle Libre reader that started it or the FreeStyle LibreLink app that started it. A sensor started by the FreeStyle Libre reader will also communicate with the FreeStyle LibreLink app.
  4. Transfer of glucose data between applications depends on internet connectivity.
  5. Both LibreLinkUp and FreeStyle Libre app users must enable glucose alarms in their apps and have internet connectivity for the LibreLinkUp user to receive shared glucose alarms from Connections using FreeStyle Libre 2.
  6. Requires use of FreeStyle Libre 2 or FreeStyle Libre 3 sensors.
  7. Not all mobile apps or features are available in all regions.
